Meet Lis Young and Harry

Like Lis Young, an entrepreneur and personal stylist, Lis launched her business last year and is helping women find their sense of style – perfect for women who have gotten into a COVID rut of wearing active wear everyday!
Lis is also the proud Mum of Harry the King Charles Cavalier who has been her rock through lockdown and beyond. We sat down with Lis to find out more about her business and about Harry...
Tell us about your business
My personal styling business, Lis Y Style, launched in December last year to enable a diverse range of people to be their best selves through styling. I have always loved clothes, creating outfits and helping others - so after lockdown I decided to take the plunge and start my own business doing just that!
My services aim to help people of any gender, age or lifestyle to refresh their style or find the right outfit for a specific event. I help people do this by conducting a style consultation where we get clear on their objectives and preferred style types, then doing a wardrobe review, and/or a personal shop where I identify the right pieces based on the individual‘s specific requirements.
How has your pet been inspirational in your life and your business?
My King Charles Cavalier, Harry, is my little rock. I got him a few months before the world went into lockdown and he has been by my side ever since. Through the various meetings, presentations and virtual drinks during lockdown, he was always there in the background - usually snoozing.
Since setting up my business, his loving face and cuddly cuteness keeps me grounded and focused on what I’m trying to achieve - helping people to be their best selves through styling.
What has been the achievement in your business you are most proud of?It’s still early days but so far, I’m most proud of styling six new clients since December, launching my business brand and website in January, and styling 15 women sized 8-22 for a fashion show at Birkenhead Point earlier this month.
