Celebrating International Women's Day - Interview with Arianne Sackville

This week we are celebrating inspirational women in the pet industry as part of International Women’s Day.

One of our fav’s is Arianne Sackville – Founder & Director of Bell & Bone.

Tell us a bit about your business?
Bell & Bone is the answer to how pet owners can feel empowered, educated and supported in raising healthy and happy pups.

Built on core principles of transparency, purposeful food, social responsibility and uncompromising quality, Bell & Bone is a brand with a purpose. Here, you can find natural alternatives to dog treats and dental sticks designed by nutrition experts, for a quality of life that your furry baby deserves.

What inspired you to start your business?
My dog, Louie. And the importance of changing the petfood market for the better, for him and for all dogs alike.

What are your three biggest challenges in running and growing your business?
Managing cash and growing quickly are two things that definitely do not go hand in hand. That has been my biggest challenge for sure.

Other than that, multitasking between all the different roles you have to play as a founder is really challenging. And making time for family, friends and hobbies is definitely a challenge, but so important to do.

What are the three things you are most proud of in your business?
One of my greatest achievements is the launch of our Dental Range. Dental health is crucial to a dog’s overall health and wellbeing as gum disease can become a far greater issue if untreated.

Bell & Bone Dental Sticks are different as they are Melbourne made and Australian owned, have a healthy and grain free ingredient list and include active ingredients that are proven to reduce and prevent the build up of plaque and tartar when given daily.

Another great achievement is our partnership with RSPCA Victoria. One of our core values is to give back to the community and our partnership with RSPCA Victoria allows us to donate product and funds, helping dogs find their forever homes.

And lastly I’m proud to have made my dream a reality… helping dogs around the world live a healthier and happier life.

What do you hope for the future for other women running their own businesses?
That they feel empowered to do so and brave enough to ask for help.
